Plus\, you can visit stands to find out about the work of voluntary and community organisations who help various communities in Weymouth including Space Youth Project\, the RSPB\, Weymouth Food bank\, Friends of Greenhill Gardens\, Weymouth Street Pastors\, Friendly Food club\, DocBike Dorset\, Love Dogs and many more. \nTumbledown Community Growspace will have a stand with information about all the amazing projects and activities they run\, Cycling Without Age will be offering free rides to anyone who would like to experience their trikes\, and there will be vintage/classic cars\, a police car and a fire and rescue appliance. \nCommunity choirs are also due to perform at various times. \nAs part of the event\, the Annual Town Assembly will also be held at 1pm at the Jubilee Clock\, where you can find out more about the Council’s services and projects\, hear a short report from the Town Clerk to highlight the work of the Council over the past year and ask questions about the Council.

DESCRIPTION:5pm – Christmas Lights Switch On\nJoin us on Saturday 29th November at the New Bond Street stage where the Mayor of Weymouth\, the Primary Times competition winner and the panto cast will switch on the town’s Christmas lights\, trees and giant Christmas Elf. Don’t forget to join in the countdown!\nPlus\, there’s a huge variety of events throughout the day to get you in the festive mood: \n\n 9am–12pm – Elf Craft Workshops\nKickstart your transformation into a fully-fledged elf with fun drop-in workshops. Make your own hats\, ears and collars\, and add a touch of magic with festive face-painting. \n\n\n 12pm–1pm – Registration at Weymouth Pavilion\nHead to the Pavilion to sign in\, grab your wristband and be counted in the official record attempt. Don’t forget the group photo taking place at 1pm! \n\n\n 1:15pm–2pm – Dorset’s Largest Elf Parade\nWatch (or join!) the streets flood with elves as the parade moves through town\, filled with singing\, laughter and festive cheer. A marching band and Santa in his sleigh lead the way! \n\n\n 1pm–5pm – Afternoon of Live Entertainment\nThe main stage will be packed with performances all afternoon — expect cheeky elves\, the panto cast\, local choirs\, dance groups\, Under the Carousel\, party band The Wilkinsons \, stilt walkers\, street performers\, buskers and loads of local shops and eateries joining the celebration. DESCRIPTION:On Monday 27th January\, Weymouth Town Council’s annual service to recognise Holocaust Memorial Day will take place in Radipole Park and Gardens\, Radipole Park Drive\, Weymouth. The service will begin at 10.30am at the Holocaust Memorial Tree\, planted near Alexandra Bridge and is hosted by the Mayor of Weymouth. \nHolocaust Memorial Day occurs annually on 27th January\, the anniversary of the liberation of the largest Nazi concentration camp\, Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. The day is to remember the millions of people who lost their lives during the Holocaust and those who died in the genocides that followed in Cambodia\, Rwanda\, Bosnia and Darfu. This year will mark the 80th anniversary of this liberation as well as the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Bosnia. \nThe theme for this year is “For a Better Future”.
