DESCRIPTION:The legendary Robbie McIntosh Band is coming to The Bay Theatre at Weymouth College on Thursday 23rd May. \nGuitarist Robbie McIntosh has one of the highest musical pedigrees you’ll find anywhere on the planet and has legendary status among his fellow musicians! His career to date includes spells as guitarist with The Pretenders (with whom he played at Live Aid in 1985)\, Sir Paul McCartney\, Sir Tom Jones\, John Mayer and Norah Jones. \nHis brilliance across a range of music\, both on acoustic and electric guitar\, has made him one of the world’s most sought-after session guitarists\, playing on recordings by Tears For Fears\, Paul Young\, Roger Daltrey\, Mark Knopfler\, Norah Jones\, John Mayer\, Paul McCartney\, Cher\, George Martin\, Joe Cocker\, Daryl Hall\, Kirsty McColl\, Mike and the Mechanics\, Tori Amos and many more. He continues to tour and record with many of the most famous names in music. \nAs well as being a talented multi-instrumentalist\, Robbie is an accomplished a singer songwriter in his own right. \nHis band features Steve Smith (keyboards and vocals)\, Steve Wilson (bass and vocals)\, Pete Hope Evans (harmonicas)\, Paul Beavis (drums)\, Jody Linscott (percussion) and Hannah Robinson (guitars and vocals). DESCRIPTION:Local musician\, publican and community advocate Rossco Broughton-South will return to The Bay Theatre at Weymouth College with his local party project Rossco (and Co.) this March.\nCelebrating the release of their debut album ‘Set Sail’\, Rossco (and Co.) will be bringing their entourage of theatrical stage props\, cosplay and high energy\, paired with their hybrid sounds of rock\, metal\, rap and dance. \nSupporting the debut album celebrations will be one of the fastest growing artists in the local community\, The Haze. \nThese incredibly talented young artists have their own original set of future hits. DESCRIPTION:The Friendly Society of Artistic Labourers\, made up of more than 100 students of visual arts\, performing arts and music at Weymouth College\, will take over the historic Nothe Fort for their annual festival. \nAll are welcome at this free showcasing of the students’ collective creativity for one night only on Friday\, 1st March. \nThe festival\, named ‘Layers and Traces’\, is the culmination of radical work experience led by artist Simon Lee Dicker with staff and students from Weymouth College\, who are currently busy preparing work for the exhibition. \nThe event will start with a procession from the Pavilion car park to the Nothe Fort at 5.30pm on Friday\, 1st March. R. James’ 1911 play\, accompanied by unique puppets and a haunting soundtrack of original music composed by Dan Melrose. With an innovative design and shifting set\, this is set to be a chilling and entertaining hour of theatre. \nEdward Dunning\, academic expert in the occult\, has recently rejected a paper by a man named Karswell. DESCRIPTION:The University of Chichester’s MA touring company\, mapdance\, visit Weymouth this February. \nmapdance is an established\, contemporary dance company whose last national tour saw repertoire by renowned and upcoming contemporary choreographers\, with new works by Kay Crook\, Seeta Patel and Luke Brown\, as well as the re-staging of Gary Clarke’s piece ‘On Your Marks’\, created especially for mapdance 2020. \nFor 2024\, the company has commissioned new works by Yukiko Masui (SAY)\, Renaud Wiser and Carrie Whitaker (Lîla Dance)\, as well as re-staging Sarah Golding’s hugely popular work ‘STATE’. \nThe mixed repertory offers a refreshing mixture of dance theatre\, fast-paced athleticism intricate lyrical choreography and humour. DESCRIPTION:A spooky mystery will unfold at The Bay Theatre at Weymouth College in February\, and audiences are being asked to help discover clues and crack the case! \nThe award-winning\, Bristol-based theatre company Brave Bold Drama will be bringing their brand new\, playable family theatre show\, The Midnight Mission\, to Weymouth on Thursday\, 8th February. \nThe interactive play has been inspired by the real-life events of the ‘Lost Summer of 1816’\, when Lord Byron hosted an impromptu writers’ retreat in Villa Diodati on the banks of Lake Geneva\, Switzerland.
