SUMMARY:Casting the Runes
DESCRIPTION:Theatre company Box Tale Soup will be bringing their adaptation of classic supernatural thriller\, Casting the Runes\, to Weymouth this February. \nAudiences will be kept on the edge of their seat\, as performers Noel Byrne and Antonia Christophers breathe new life into M. R. James’ 1911 play\, accompanied by unique puppets and a haunting soundtrack of original music composed by Dan Melrose. With an innovative design and shifting set\, this is set to be a chilling and entertaining hour of theatre. \nEdward Dunning\, academic expert in the occult\, has recently rejected a paper by a man named Karswell. Things take a dark turn for Dunning when he is passed a mysterious strip of paper covered in runic lettering. \nWith the help of a new acquaintance\, Dunning must uncover the secret of the runes before the dark presence at his heels finally catches up with him. \nFor more information on Box Tale Soup\, visit boxtalesoup.co.uk \nThey will be performing Casting the Runes at The Bay Theatre at Weymouth College on Wednesday\, 28th February from 7.30pm. This production is suitable for those aged 12+ and tickets cost £13 for adults and £11 for concessions\, available to book at www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebaytheatre

SUMMARY:The Midnight Mission
DESCRIPTION:A spooky mystery will unfold at The Bay Theatre at Weymouth College in February\, and audiences are being asked to help discover clues and crack the case! \nThe award-winning\, Bristol-based theatre company Brave Bold Drama will be bringing their brand new\, playable family theatre show\, The Midnight Mission\, to Weymouth on Thursday\, 8th February. \nThe interactive play has been inspired by the real-life events of the ‘Lost Summer of 1816’\, when Lord Byron hosted an impromptu writers’ retreat in Villa Diodati on the banks of Lake Geneva\, Switzerland. This retreat sparked two literary firsts – the first ever vampire story in The Vampyre by John Polidori\, and the first sci-fi story in Frankestein by Mary Shelley. \nSet in the present day\, the audience at Weymouth College’s Bay Theatre will join creative agents Kahlo & Dali\, from The Company of International Artists\, to investigate the case of an apparently haunted artwork which hangs on the wall of Villa Diodati. \nTickets cost £8 for adults and £7 for concessions\, available www.ticketsource.co.uk/thebaytheatre or by calling the box office 01305 208702. \nThe Bay Theatre is based in the Kimmeridge building at Weymouth College’s Cranford Avenue campus. Free parking is available in the main College car park and arrangements can be made for accessible parking.
