Virtual Weymouth Events
Although the majority of events in Weymouth have been cancelled for May and June, there are some virtual events taking place which you may like to watch or take part in.
There’s always something to do!
Weymouth, located at the heart of the spectacular Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site is host to over 200 events, festivals and activities throughout the year.
This truly eventful destination will give a warm welcome to over 1 million event visitors, competitors, participants and passionate supporters from the UK and around the world.
Looking through the events calendar and there is something for everyone; from car rallies to live music, Armed Forces Day, Seafood Festival, Beach Volleyball Championships, Fireworks, triathlon, Ironman 70.3 and more.
And remember so many of the events are free……….just another reason to visit Weymouth!

The Riviera Hotel
Starting and finishing at the Riviera Hotel, Bowleze Cove and running along the Esplanade. Sign up to take part in this 122 metres, plus two laps and then running out to the pleasure pier to gain your bespoke medal with trophies for the first three runners.
All in aid of the Weldmar Hospice.

Rescheduled from its original date of Sunday 22nd March to Sunday 6th September.
Now in its 6th year, this popular seaside half marathon provides runners with some outstanding scenery, history and the opportunity to set a personal best on a pretty flat 13.1 mile course. Runners will take in a historical and scenic tour of Weymouth’s dramatic past and landscape through the town, harbour, sea front, country park and gardens.

Evening History Talk With Pauline Crump - Defence of the Realm.
For more than 1000 years, from the Vikings to D Day and beyond, Weymouth and Portland’s strategic position in the English Channel has meant that we played an important part in the country’s defence plans. This talk looks at some of our most familiar local structures, from castles to the Cold War bunkers and considers their purpose and importance.

This event has unfortunately been postponed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Bike Night takes place at the Jubilee Clock weekly on a Thursday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm (weather permitting). All welcome to attend to show your bikes on the Seafront and raise money for local charities. Visitors to the Seafront on the evening will see a variety of bikes from classics to the modern day – come and enjoy the evening and chat with the owners.
